Emily is a business
journalist who worked extensively at BRW and harnessed this
experience to co-author best-selling books, 100 Great Businesses and the
Minds Behind Them and 50 Great E-Businesses
and the Minds
Behind Them. Her work is
published in North America, Brazil, Japan, Korea and Turkey.
Emily started her career in
1991 working at Text Media for The Melbourne Weekly as a
general news journalist.
Four years later she joined Fairfax Media and became the deputy
editor of the Qantas Magazine, Australia’s biggest contract
magazine, before joining the BRW magazine in 2000 as a section
editor.
Emily spent six years at BRW
and had a variety of positions including sections editor, senior
writer and feature writer.
She has written major feature
articles, profiles and columns including Rich 200, Young Rich, Fast
100, Upstarts, rising new stars and edited BRW flagship issues of
Most Admired Leader, Rich Summer and Design & Innovation. In
addition, Emily was responsible for co-editing a six-page weekly
section covering a broad range of leadership issues and profiles of
leading Australian business people.
Since leaving BRW, Emily has
written for thriving business website Smart Company and industry
publications such as, In The Black (CPA Australia), CEO Agenda (ANZ
Bank) and Australian Educator. She has also worked with business
think tank The Australian Davos Connection and extensively with
Media Manoeuvres.
Emily also has a particular
interest in workplace diversity, women and leadership and speaks
regularly on leadership, change management, work/life balance and
entrepreneurship. |
