Rosy Mobbs is a well-regarded and highly experienced finance journalist and media trainer whom has spent over 20 years working within Australian and International media.
After completing her Bachelor of Economics and Public Health at the University of Sydney, Rosy travelled the world working as a translator. On her return to Australia Rosy began working at AAP Reuters developing their corporate bond trading system and in 1990 Rosy moved on to work at MLC in their finance sector.
Following this Rosy decided to combined her journalistic and financial knowledge and commenced work at the Australian Financial Review working as a property writer covering such things as the controversial decision to build the ‘Toaster’ at Bennelong Point, Sydney.
She was awarded a Department of Foreign Affairs scholarship in 1992 which involved her visiting and reporting on financial centres in China, Japan and Korea. This furthered her interest in the financial markets and led her to join the Australian Financial Review’s banking desk where she specialised in reporting on structured finance, capital markets and other banking issues.
In 1994 Rosy moved across to News Ltd where she worked as the Business Editor and columnist at the Sunday Telegraph for which she had close to three million readers and later began freelance writing for magazines such as BRW, New Woman, Insurance and Risk Professional, Shares, Medical Observer, Business Class, Your Trading Edge and Corporate Woman.
Rosy also has a strong background in education developed by teaching English in Japan and now continues to teach debating classes weekly at a local Sydney High School.
Rosy’s experience in the international field of finance journalism and her vast knowledge of both the media and educational techniques makes her a valued member of the Media Manoeuvres team.
